Your first Aztec Public Library card is FREE and gives access to Aztec Public Library and Bloomfield Public Library.

Show valid photo identification with your current mailing address. Can be one of the following:
- • Driver's license issued by a state in the U.S.
- • Photo ID issued by a state in the U.S.
- • United States Military ID Card
- • United States Passport
- • Matricula Consular Card issued by Mexico

If your photo identification does not show current mailing address, another piece of documentation will be necessary to establish your address. This can be ONE of the following:
- • A recent piece of mail with your name and address;
- • A rental agreement showing name and mailing address;
- • A vehicle registration or insurance document with your name and current mailing address;
- • Any other recent documentation showing your name and mailing address.

Applicants 17 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a valid library card in order, to obtain their own card. These cards can be issued at the same time. |

A replacement Library Card is $2.00. |

Library cards are not transferable, not even within families. A library card may only be used by the person in whose name the card is issued. |

Your login is the 10 digit barcode on the back of your library card. |

Your pin is 4 digits and can be set up with a library staff at the circulation desk. |

Checking out Materials
 |
Patron must present a library card in good standing to check out material. Library cards must be used by patron whose name is on the card. If patron is not present no items will be checked out on the card. |

Up to 15 items (ex. 10 books + 5 DVD's or 15 books and no DVD's) may be borrowed on one card. |
 |
Books check out for 3 weeks. |
 |
DVD movies are limited to 5 per card for a one week loan. |
Renewal
If no requests have been placed on an item it may be renewed ONE time by:

Renewal will not be possible if there is a request (hold) on the item by another patron. |
Requesting Materials
 |
Do it yourself from any computer that accesses the Internet, the library's computers, or ask a library staff person. |
 |
When a requested item is available, you will be notified by email or phone. |
 |
The requested item must be picked up WITHIN 8 DAYS. |
 |
Different conditions might apply to [Inter Library Loan] books borrowed from libraries outside of the system. |
Overdue Materials
 |
A library patron is responsible for all materials checked out on their card. |
 |
Adults are responsible for children's checkouts. |
 |
Notifications are sent via phone/email/text. |
 |
Stages for notifications are after 3 days overdue, the second after 7 days, a third after 21 days. |
 |
Fines Levied at $10 cents per day. |
Replacement and Processing Costs
 |
Charged the full price of item(s) overdue for 60 days or more (if the item can be found and returned 10 days after being billed as "Lost" the replacement fee will be waived, then charges will be overdue fines at .10/day per book, DVD,CD books). |

Damaged items will be assessed by library staff with charges applied according to damage. |
 |
Damaged items to be held for 21 days, after that will be properly disposed of. |
Returns
When library is closed, materials may be left in the drive-by book drop on the south side of the Aztec Public Library.
Suspension of Borrowing Privileges
 |
Borrowing privileges of patrons owing $10.00 or more are suspended until payment is made. |
 |
Accounts 60 days overdue and totaling $25.00 or more may be referred to a collection agency. |
 |
If the account is referred to a collection agency, a recovery fee of 40% of total owed plus a $3.00 processing fee and the amount owed will be needed to restore account. |
 |
Borrowing privileges may be suspended by library staff if it is found that the card is being used by anyone other than the person named on the card, whether or not that use was authorized by the cardholder. |
