Interlibrary Loan Requests

1. If a title is not found in the catalog it can be requested. Aztec and Bloomfield libraries share a catalog.
2. Library staff will make the decision whether to buy the item or borrow it from another library (Inter Library Loan).
3. Inter Library Loan is a service provided by the New Mexico State Library through the local public library.
4. Patrons must have a valid library card in good standing with accurate contact details to request an Inter Library Loan. The card used to make the request must be used at the time of checkout of the Inter Library Loan item.
5. Up to 3 titles may be requested on Interlibrary Loan at any one time. Items required in a specific order should be requested individually, as their arrival in order cannot be guaranteed.
6. It can take up to six weeks for an Inter Library Loan request to be fulfilled. Requests should not be made for an item which is needed urgently.
7. Renewal on Inter Library Loan items is dependent on the loaning library.
8. A title may be re-requested twice.
9. Costs such as late fees or replacement fees, incurred in loaning material from another library, will be passed on to the patron who made the request for the item.
10. Journal article requests through Inter Library Loan will be at no cost for the first 10 copies. Anything beyond, will be charged at the current rate of the library copy service charge.
